Makansutra Singapore 2011

Recently bought a copy of Makansutra Singapore 2011 on one of my half day leave while roaming in MPH. Thought would be a good idea to have a copy especially when running out of ideas on what to eat...

Me and my gf decided to try one of the places recommended..

Rong Guang B.B.Q Seafood
Blk 127 Bukit Merah Lane 1
KPT Coffeeshop

We have actually tried the food before here, but it was quite some time back but must say that i was pretty impress with the food, i think back then it was still located in the Hawker centre...

Anyway so decided to revisit this place as part of our exploration on recommendation by the Makansutra book. The rating given by the book was high 5 chopsticks aka "Divine"

Our orders for the night were Prawn paste chicken, Stingray and Sambal kangkong,

To be honest, we were not overly impressed especially the stingray, it was not very fresh the chilli on the stingray lack power just was not as "Divine" as thought out to be.
The sambal kangkong was not bad (guess hard to go wrong for such a simple dish but the veggie was cook just right) Prawn paste chicken was the best among the 3 dishes, nicely deep fried, crispy out and tender in, yum...

Would probably just rate it a 2 chopstick aka "Good" but if you are nearby the queenway shopping centre area or ikea alexandra, it is sure worth dropping by this place.

2 more days to go

Leaving the firm in 2 days.. Strange as it may sound.. I do have a tinge of sadness and will really look back and think what could have been, had things gone my way..
Oh well guess that is life, the hard way so just have to learn to be satisfied with what I have right now..

What is New?

Well so many new things for me happening, let me run through them to remind myself:

New Job
After going through a bad patch (job related) i have finally move on. I have tender my resignation from Credit Suisse to join American bank Morgan Stanley.

New Paycheck
Strangely i am not excited about nor am i motiviated for it, that despite the fact i am gonna be paid more.

New Age
I turn 27 years old 5 days ago... but of course i still feel 18 la... and i certainly look very young. Oh gosh i sound like a girl.

New wardrobe
Been doing quite a bit of shopping this month...
Tailor 2 shirts and 2 pants from Men tradition (disappointed with the pants)
Bought 1 shirt from N.tyler and 1 pants from Library in CK tangs, cos they gave me 20% off for birthday
Bought online from polo ralph US, bought 2 shirts but sadly sizing no good... so sold one away liao... haha...
Bought another 2 shirts from Rossi and 1 shirt from Library from CK Tang Sales on me birthday.
Woohoo... Total got 6 new shirts and new pants...

New Experience
Went to catch the Lion King and stayed 1 night in MBS 2 weekends before my birthday, although the stay was not really up to the expectation, the show was good... highly recommend it to all.

New Training
I am going for RT training. LOL. After scraping through 3 years of IPPT i have fallen victim to RT. Too lazy to train or even try to pass. I gave up this year to just go for RT. Haha.

Finally
It feels a different me now, one that is not motivated and not passionate about life de me... It feels weird, i dont have the desire and motivation anymore. Strange enough but oddly as well that despite knowing it all, i dont care. I honestly dont. But that is just me... haha... so what is new then...

CSI. The Experience

Yesterday went to the Science centre for CSI: The Experience. For those who don't know about CSI, it stands for Crime Scene Investigator. You could catch the drama on AXN (CH 511) or FoxCrime (CH 503) on Starhub Cable tv.

The tickets for entry is $20 for adults and $16 for kids (not very confirmed for the kids part) The package with Science Centre is @ $21 meaning you could enter for both CSI: The Experience and Science Centre.
Passion Card holders will get 10% off and if you are Starhub user, please bring along proof you are one and you will be entitle slightly more discount according to lady who serve us but we did not bring any to proof.

So CSI: The Experience is a exhibition that gives you a 1st hand experience to being Crime Scene Investigator, there are 3 separate cases with different evidence display and your job is to follow the evidence to find the killers looking at various evidence including looking at the mock up crime scene, finger prints and DNA.
So through out exhibition, it gives you an opportunity to know more about what exactly a CSI do so even if you do not watch the tv show. Going there would be an even bigger eye opener on how crimes are solved these days.

The exhibition would you last 2 to 3 hours depending on how fast or how detailed you look at the stuff. You would enter the exhibition and be given a case file, followed by watching a short clip and know what is require from you. Thereafter you would proceed to the relevant crime scene and follow the case file to the relevant exhibit and at the end of following all the case file you reach some computers for you to type in your report for your findings and end the at of it you would be able either to purchase a diploma @ $8 or have a softcopy send to an email for being able to follow the evidence and solve the case.

After this you would exit the exhibition and there are additional exhibition about the CSI and then you need to re-enter to do the other 2 cases but without watching the clips and stuff.

Personally i had a good time there, it is not that difficult to solve the crime as the audience age group is pretty wide so they do make it more simple to cater to primary school kids, but it is certainly worth going for different weekend outing for friend or couples rather than the usual movie or ktv. Do note: NO Photography allowed in the exhibition. Enjoy !

First Post of Twenty Eleven

Wow... I have not posted for years it seems, actually it is just months but here i am back again.
This time round, i will try to maintain the blog and put in some adventures that i have been going about. Decided to use the most primitive blogskin provided by blogspot. Simple and neat i guess.

So since this is like the 1st post, i should them set out my Year 2011 resolution:
No 1: To go Cash and limited/no Credit Cards.
No 2: To Climb Mount Kinabalu
No 3: To get a Better Paying job

And these are my new year resolutions, and so far 4 days into the new year, none exactly on track. Haha. Just had my haircut @ Chapter 2, Marina Square and credit card came out again. But like my haircut done by Jeft very much although price a bit steep but neat and yet funky. Recommended for those who want something different.

Back on work, now is month end meaning at least 10 hours shift, quite regret joining accounting, no payrise but extra work. Really hope this year would be a better year. Hao la, that is my 1st post of the year, would probably post some old but more interesting stuff that i did for Xmas and NY 2010.

Good night...
